Background for the Charity Industry
Size of the Industry
The Charity industry is big. An estimated $800bn is donated annually! These figures go much larger when you add initiatives such as the "Giving Pledge", with people such as Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, Elon Musk and others signed on, it is estimated about $600bn could flow through this programme.
Furthermore, the Gates Foundation recently approved a $8.3bn budget for 2023 alone & is indicating an increase in following years.
Online Market Growing
The Online Market in donations has become the largest segment for NGOs. 85% of the total in 2020, with an expected 7.4% CAGR for 2020-2025. Gaining an estimated $120bn in sales by 2025.

This industry is rife with competition & has many players involved. Certain countries have more dominant markets, such as the UK with top charities making up closer to 40%. However, with an estimated 11 million Non-Profits & Charities worldwide. Even if you assume 60% are either scams, for tax reasons or dormant, that still leaves a Total Addressable Market (TAM) size of 4.4m. We shall go into more detail in Market Size.
